On Wednesday August 18, Nicole represented the Future Centre Trust at a presentation to the children who were attending the Governor General’s Agricultural Camp, organised by Senator Dr Frances Chandler.
The group of some twenty children ranged in ages from 6 to 13 and included a wide range of knowledge of environmental matters.
The children learned a little about the FCT and its history before moving onto a learning game where everyone had to find links to various words and their impacts called the Web of Life. Then it was over to Keenan and Ashlea who helped Nicole with some of her research by reading two chapters of the story book of Bri and Luk to see how the group understood the words and the storyline. Everyone did – so that was a good research session!
Thanks to Dr Chandler for inviting Nicole to present and interact a little with the children, and also for the invitation to attend the awards ceremony at Government House. The children were well behaved and looked so smart all dressed up in their finery! Congrats to the Camp Counsellors, including one past camper who helped another year of camp end in success!
Photos to come!
